Court adjourns hearing on Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Mehmood ur Rasheed's bail till Sep 6

In the cases of the attack on Askari Tower and the burning of containers at Kalma Chowk and police vehicles in Gulbarg, the court adjourned the hearing on ex-governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema and ex-opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed’s bail till September 6.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Ejaz Ahmad Buttar conducted the hearing of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Tuesday and asked the lawyers for arguments on the bails of former governor and provincial opposition leader for the next hearing.

Former Governor Umar Sarfaraz Cheema has filed a bail application in the Askari Tower attack case while Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid has filed bail in the cases of burning police vehicles and containers in Gulberg and in Kalma Chowk.

The channel report said that the Gulberg Police have registered case number 1271/23 against Umar Sarfraz Cheema and others.

The same police station has registered case number 1280/23 against Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid and others while the Naseerabad Police Station Lahore has registered a case 1078/23 against Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid.
