Motorway M5 closed due to fog

Motorway M5, stretching from Sher Shah Multan, has been closed until Monday due to dense fog, according to Syed Imran Ahmed, the spokesperson for the Motorway Police.

The closure aims to prioritize public safety and ensure secure travel during hazardous conditions.

In a statement, authorities advised citizens to limit travel during the foggy season and, if necessary, to prefer daytime travel between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., when visibility tends to improve. Drivers are urged to use front and rear fog lights, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and avoid overspeeding to minimize risks.

Motorway Police have also requested the public to avoid unnecessary journeys during this period and to contact their helpline at 130 for real-time updates and assistance. These measures are part of broader efforts to ensure commuter safety amid challenging weather conditions.
