Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) officials have suggested to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to levy tariff on the households over collegcting garbage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The officials have suggested to the CM to charge each house in the city between Rs250 and Rs2,000 in tariff every month, while any commercial place between Rs500 and Rs10,000.

The officials are of the view that the collection of the tariff will not only generate Rs12 billion in revenue for the Punjab government, but will also reduce the burden of LWMC’s expenditures on the government exchequer.

According to the officials, the company’s yearly expenses have reached Rs20 billion.
