Punjab University teachers protest against reduction in tax rebates

Protests have started in all universities of the country, including Punjab University Lahore, against the reduction in teachers' tax rebates, the appointment of bureaucrats as VCs and changes in service rules, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
All teachers of Punjab University have protested against reduction in tax rebates and announced a boycott until the policies are withdrawn.
The protest has been organized by the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association.
The teachers demanded that the government should immediately withdraw the notification to abolish the rebate.
Non-teaching staff also participate in the Punjab University protest.
