A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Friday took up for hearing the bail applications of parents of Zahir Zakir Jafar, the main suspect in the murder case of Noor Muqaddam, daughter of ex-Pakistan’s envoy, while Zahir Jafar was taken to Lahore in connection with the investigation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Asad Jamal Advocate represented Asmat Adamjee, Zahir’s mother.

When the judge inquired as to where the investigation officer (IO) in the case was, counsel for the state Sajid Cheema replied that the IO had gone to Lahore to get the forensic test of video of the incident.

Shaukat Ali Muqaddam, father of the victim girl, also a petitioner in the case, told the court that he was yet to hire a lawyer; therefore he be given time till Monday (August 2).

However, the judge asked him to engage a lawyer today.

Suspects’ lawyers prayed to the court to defer the hearing till tomorrow (Saturday, July 31).

Counsel for the state Cheema said that the IO in the case was in Lahore, and he had with him file of the case.

Asad Jamal Advocate, representing mother of the main suspect in the case, said that his client Asmat Adam Ji was put in jail without any solid reason.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing of bail applications of suspects in Noor Muqaddam case till August 4.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have reached Lahore with main suspect Zahir Zakir Jafar for the forensic test of the video recovered from the crime scene.

Zahir will also be made to go through the polygraphic test at the forensic laboratory so that truth could be sifted from the falsehood.

The suspect will also be asked questions regarding the murder of Noor Muqaddam.
