On strong people’s demand, after a gap of 18 years, the train service between Sibbi and Harnai in Balochistan resumed at last on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki and Federal Minister for Railways Shahid Ashraf Tarar declared the rail track open.

Speaking on the occasion, Domki said the track between the two cities had been closed in February 2006 due to which people were facing lot of inconvenience.

The chief minister said the credit for the resumption of service after such a long period of time went to the caretaker government. “This will not only facilitate the movement of people but will also create job opportunities for them,” he said, and added, “The track is particularly of utility for the locals because of the absence of a road link between the two cities.”

Domki also appreciated the locals as well as the law-enforcement agencies for supporting the government’s bid to restore the service. “Opening the track again was a tough task,” he said, adding, “However, I appreciate the way the minister and Pakistan Railways officials worked hard to make this happen.”

Domki informed that Bolan Mail would also be back on track on December 25. “Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti Express’s turn is next,” he informed.
