Jennie Kim of BLACKPINK has etched her name in history, becoming the first K-pop soloist to receive the prestigious Global Force Award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event.
Following her groundbreaking achievement, Jennie took to Instagram to express her gratitude. Sharing a series of photos from the event, the One of the Girls singer wrote, "Thank you @billboard for honoring me with the Global Force Award." She admitted that nerves got the best of her on stage, preventing her from saying everything she wanted. "I want to thank all the amazing women I get to work with. You guys are the true inspiration to this world and to me," she added. "Thank you for walking this path with me. I love you. And to my fans all around the world—wouldn’t be here without you!"
At the event in Los Angeles on March 29, Jennie stunned in a breathtaking red Zuhair Murad gown as she delivered an emotional acceptance speech. "I am so lucky and fortunate to work with so many talented people in my career. I have these amazing women in my album. Words cannot express how thankful I am. This award is a tribute to every woman who dares to dream," she said.
She also took a moment to acknowledge her group, BLACKPINK, stating, "I want to take a moment to thank my BLACKPINK girls. Without them, this journey would have never happened."
With this latest accolade, Jennie continues to solidify her position as a trailblazer in the global music industry.
