Govt calls back police from GT Road, removes containers from roads, bridges

After the agreement between the government and the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), the administration Sunday evening removed containers and opened roads for traffic. Police personnel deployed at the GT Road were also returned to their police lines.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Rawalpindi Traffic Police removed containers from different roads of the city that were closed in connection with the TLP Long March.
As per the report, all containers on Murree Road and Faizabad Square were being removed with the help of a crane from the traffic police.
The Rawalpindi traffic police have also removed the diversions leading to the Saddar and other link roads. Traffic on the 9th Avenue Signal to Stadium Road was also opened for all traffic.
On Sunday night, the government had called back the police personnel from the river bridges of Jhelum and Chenab. While heavy machinery was also started work to remove containers and obstructions at the GT Road. Mobile and internet services have also begun to be partially restored in Wazirabad and adjacent areas at the GT Road.
After removing obstacles in Jhelum, the flow of vehicles and motorcycles inside the city has started and mobile and internet service is restored.
