Justice (r) Mujahid to head Nepra Appellate Tribunal

The federal government has notified the posting of Nepra Appellate Tribunal head following the approval by the federal cabinet.
According to the notification issued on Wednesday, former Lahore High Court judge Mujahid Mustaqeem was appointed the tribunal chairman for a four-year term.
The legislation for activating the tribunal effectively was made in 2018 so that the complaints of consumers against power distribution companies could be addressed.
Established under Section 12A of the Regulation of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of the Electric Power Act 1997, the tribunal will have members of the finance and electrical under the chairman.
Three months ago, the Supreme Court ordered activating the tribunal effectively and appoint members within 10 days hereafter and adjourned the matter for four weeks.
