Lahore CCPO gets ASI arrested over ‘flawed investigations’

Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umar Sheikh on Sunday got an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) arrested in the provincial capital allegedly for distorting evidence and doing flawed investigations.
ASI Sadiq Hussain, who was deployed at the Chuhng Police Station, was accused of accepting bribe and doing flawed investigations and twisting evidence in different cases. A case was registered against Sadiq, he was arrested and put into the lockup at the Chuhng Police Station.
It is said that Sadiq conducted flawed investigations into various cases that caused disappointment to justice seekers. The Lahore CCPO says he has a zero-tolerance policy for policemen not doing investigations on merit. He said that policemen must work with honesty and shouldn’t be influenced by anyone.
