Brother guns down sister, boy over honour issue in Rawalpindi

A tragic incident unfolded in the jurisdiction of Dhamial Police Station, Rawalpindi, where a young couple was shot dead in the name of honour.
The 24NewsHD TV channel reported that the victims have been identified as Haider and Kanwal, alias Laiba. Their bodies were shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem.
Rawalpindi police told the media that the deceased boy was a resident of Kallar Syedan, while the girl was living with her brother in Rawalpindi.
In a brutal act, the girl’s brother allegedly opened fire on both victims, killing them on the spot.
Sources revealed that Haider had proposed to marry Kanwal, but her family rejected the proposal, leading to heightened tensions.
The City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi has issued immediate orders for the arrest of the accused. Meanwhile, SP Saddar has been directed to reach the crime scene promptly and submit a detailed report.
