Lahore police on Saturday started a crackdown against the VIP culture on the roads and challaned luxury vehicles on the use of tinted glass, hooters and private gunmen for security.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana launched the anti-VIP culture campaign under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz.

Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Lahore Muntazir Mehdi has also launched the campaign against the culture and participated in the campaign himself on the Mall Road to remove hooters and tinted glasses from the cars as the use of them is illegal.

In his direction, cases against the users of the tinted glasses and hooters were registered while the Lahore CCPO warned the violators that strict action would be taken against the people who will use private gunman during the travelling as such kind of act terrified the general public.

Lahore CCPO Kamyana also said that the citizens should remove the tinted glasses from their vehicles otherwise legal action would be taken while those carrying private gunmen with them would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

With the use of tinted glasses, Lahore traffic police made challan of the vehicle drivers. The CTO Lahore has said that the use of tinted glasses is a cause of security concerns because it is difficult to monitor vehicles with tinted glasses through the Safe City Authority cameras installed on the roads.
