Kalakot police nail gangster involved in '300 robberies'

SSP City Amjad Hayat has said Amir, alias Amir Commando arrested by the Kalakot police, made startling revelations.

The arrested was a key operator of the Bilal Tension and Naimatullah Matta gang involved in scores of street crimes, the SSP said.

Aamir Commando told investigators about 300 street crimes, he said, adding that the gang consisted of eight members and police arrested four while the hunt for the other was underway.

The gang committed crimes in the posh parts of the port city, he said, adding that criminals operate four days a week and snatch jewellery and costly mobile phones.

The gangsters were snatching from 20 to 25 mobile phones daily and Matta was selling the stolen sets, the top cop said. Bilal Tension has already been arrested.

The arrested remained involved in committing the crimes along with Bilal Tension and Jalal, he said, adding that two gangsters of his accomplices are now behind bars.
