A sit-in protest has entered its tenth day on Wednesday as talks between Jani Khel tribe and Bannu district administration ended without any result, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The tribal people are protesting by placing the dead body of a member of the peace committee in front of the sit-in amid scorching heat.

Bannu protesters demanded to implement eight-point pact they agreed with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Local students are also participating in the protest. However, police have placed containers and blocked all roads leading to the protest site.

The polio campaign has also been suspended in the area amid the emergency-like situation due to the protest.

Frontier Constabulary and KP Police have heavily deployed around the sit-in site in Bannu to avoid any untoward incident.

The authorities are trying to stop the political personalities from reaching the protest site where the Jani Khel tribe is protesting and demanding justice from KP CM Mehmood Khan.

Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Aimal Wali Khan has also announced to participate in the protest along with a large-scale rally and demonstration.
