Karachi reports 275 dengue cases, one death

Dengue cases are increasing on alarming rate as 275 more patients were brought to the hospital in past 24 hours while the deadly virus claimed one more life in Karachi taking the total toll to 36 during this month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

The deceased was the resident of Korangi. 

According to the data provided by the Sindh Health Department, a total number of 6,053 dengue cases has been surfaced in this month whereas 8,260 cases has been reported this year in metropolis city. 

96 cases recorded in Islamabad 

Similarly, a total of 96 new dengue cases were emerged in Islamabad while this season’s death toll remained at six as no new death was reported.

According to the statistical data provided by the District Health Officer, out of 96 cases, 43 dengue cases were from rural areas of Islamabad and 53 from urban areas after which the toll reached to 2,331.

Dengue larvae destroyed at 1,464 places in Lahore

On the other hand, at least 389 dengue patients were reported across Punjab within the last 24 hours, out of them, 136 new cases were from Lahore, according to the Secretary Health Punjab Dr Arshad Ahmad.

Four people have so far died due to the deadly virus in Lahore. Meanwhile, 291 dengue patients were under treatment at different hospitals of the city.

Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care Punjab is carrying out counter-measures to control dengue spread.

The officials of Punjab Health Department, yesterday, visited 64,466 indoor places and 13,345 outdoor places in Lahore and destroyed dengue larvae at 1,464 different places.
