ANF, FC seize 820kg of opium in Mashkel operation

Frontier Corp (FC) and the intelligence wing of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized over 820kg of opium in a joint operation in the mountains of Mashkel, Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to the ANF spokesperson, the drug had been stored in a secret place called Gurinder Nala in the rough mountains.
During the operation, an exchange of fire also occurred for 30 minutes between the drug-peddlers and the law-enforcement agencies.
The accused, however, managed to escape from the scene, taking advantage of the terrain.
The spokesperson said that a case had been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act and further investigations were underway.
