The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has notified all passengers travelling to the United Arab Emirates via any airport of the Gulf state to visit uaeentry.ica.gov.ae before flying and check if they are allowed to enter their host country or not. This service allows residents with valid resident visas to confirm entry/re-entry to the UAE.
According to the PIA, Abu Dhabi had earlier abolished this condition, but Pakistanis travelling to the UAE via PIA and Airblue flights in the last two days were not allowed to board their planes without ICA’s approval. As a result, passengers in larger numbers had to be taken off board. The move caused the airlines huge losses and passengers a great deal of agony.
According to the information gathered by the PIA, all Pakistanis going to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Al Ain must visit the aforementioned website and check if they need ICA’s approval to enter their host country. And those who require this permission must delay their flight for a couple of days and fix this issue before flying.
