Gizri police filed a petition in Sindh High Court (SHC) seeking physical remand of accused Armaghan for his involvement in kidnapping and murder of young boy Mustafa Amir due to alleged links with a girl, reported 24NEwsHD TV channel on Saturday.

In his petition, Prosecutor-General of Sindh Muntazir Mehdi said that accused Armaghan is involved in this serious case and sending him to jail without conducting any investigation is against the law. Police also challenged registration of the case filed against the raiding squad.

The petitioner stated that filing of case against the police party was completely illogical. Prosecutor-General Sindh prayed the court to declare the verdict of anti-terrorist court as null and void.

It is necessary to mention here that an administrative judge of anti-terrorism court approved judicial remand of accused in this case.

Police meet success in DNA analysis

SSP of Kidnapping for Ransom Cell Anil Haider said DNA samples of victim’s mother were matched with the blood samples collected from the accused house located Defence Phase V of Karachi. 

He further revealed that laboratory report confirmed matching of DNA and blood samples with the blood samples collected from the crime scene.

Crime Scene Unit obtained these blood samples from the residence of accused Arghman’s residence located in Defence Phase V of Karachi.

During detailed examination of the room police also found gun shots and blood signs on the carpet of the room.

It is necessary to mention here that recently when police raided the house of accused Arghman but he started firing with heavy weapons resulting in injury of a DSP and a police cop.

Earlier, new revelation surfaced regarding the murder of Mustafa Amir, who went missing from the Defense area of Karachi on January 6. Investigators have disclosed that the conflict leading to his death arose from a dispute involving a girl.

According to investigative officials, Mustafa and the accused, Armaghan, were friends who became embroiled in a heated argument on New Year’s Eve over the girl.

Following their altercation, Armaghan allegedly threatened both Mustafa and the girl.

On January 6, Armaghan reportedly called Mustafa and assaulted him. Meanwhile, the girl, identified as Marsha, fled the country on January 12.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of her testimony in the case and are attempting to contact her through Interpol.

After the discovery of Mustafa’s body, murder charges have been added to the case. The Hub police notified Karachi police about the body, which was subsequently handed over to Edhi after DNA samples were collected.

Further investigations revealed that another suspect, Shiraz, worked for Armaghan and was involved in the planning and concealment of the murder. The police are expected to seek a remand for Armaghan in court.

At a news conference on Friday, Crime Investigation Agency Deputy Inspector General (CIA-DIG) Muqaddas Haider, said that the case was handed over to the CIA after Mustafa Amir’s mother received a ransom call on January 6. He explained that the victim’s body was found in a burned vehicle near the Dhoraji police station in Balochistan’s Hub district.

Haider revealed that Shiraz confessed that Armaghan lured Mustafa to his home, where he was brutally beaten with an iron rod for three hours. After rendering him semi-conscious, they taped his mouth and transported him to a location near Dhoraji, stopping the car two kilometres away.

When they opened the trunk, Mustafa was still alive. Armaghan then poured petrol on him and set him on fire from a distance.

According to Shiraz, the suspects walked for three hours without a lift before paying a pickup truck driver Rs2,000 to reach Four Star Chowrangi, from where they took a rickshaw back to Defence.

After a police raid, Armaghan sent Shiraz home to make a video, but Shiraz fled in fear of the police and did not record anything.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Friday raised concerns regarding the court’s decision not to grant physical remand of the suspect in the Mustafa murder case to the police.

Cop shot dead in Karachi

Some unidentified assailants on Saturday shot dead a policeman Imran in Organi Town area of Karachi.

Chippa workers said that the 40-year-old policeman was wearing police uniform at the time of firing.

Police after registering a case started investigation.

Earlier on February 8, 2025, three persons who were riding a motorcycle were badly wounded after a speedy dumper crushed their motorcycle near Ibrahim Hyderi area of Karachi. The three were rushed to hospital but breathed their last on the way.

Rescue sources said that angry residents of the area staged a protest and later torched the dumper.

Further investigation was underway.
