FIA busts gang involved in Hundi business

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Commercial Banking Circle, Islamabad, in an action in Mohanpura area of Rawalpindi on Friday, nabbed a gang involved in the Hawala/Hundi business, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Of total five members of the gang, three belong to Landi Kotal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) while two to Afghanistan.
Besides an amount of over Rs20.7 million, laptops, cellphones, and deposit slips were also recovered from the suspects.
The gang would collect money from Rawalpindi, Lahore, Fatehpur, Chowk Azam and Sukkur before sending them to China and Afghanistan.
The initial questioning revealed that the gang had 33 bank accounts in Rawalpindi.
FIA has also decided to interrogate the businessmen having links with the gang.
FIA arrests man for defrauding citizen
The Cyber Crime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Rawalpindi on Friday arrested a man who was involved in ‘financial embezzlement’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Arsalan Rafiq, the suspect, took money from the complainant on the pretext of getting him issued a visa.
The suspect also received Rs0.3 million from the victim in lieu of a bank statement.
The suspect, after robbing the complainant, had disappeared.
A cellphone was recovered from Arsalan.
Later, a case was registered against him under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
