Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Wednesday that the supreme sacrifice given by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and members of his family at the battlefield of Karbala around 1,400 years ago is a lesson for generations to come to stand up against tyranny and oppression, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his message on Youm-e-Ashur, Naqvi said that by not surrendering to Yazid and his army, Imam Hussain, the grandson of the last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), set an example for the entire humanity.
“Youm-e-Ashur teaches us how to be patient and steadfast in our fight against the forces of evil,” the interior minister said, adding, “The life led by the Imam is a lesson for us that we should remain unfazed in the face of troubles we have to face while fighting against evil.”
