Motorway Police have decided to impose fines on the drivers whose cars will have M-tags pasted on them but will either be without or short of cash, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) Inspector General Inam Ghani has said the decision has been taken so that the drivers do not block the passage of other vehicles queued up at toll plazas due to argumentation with the men sitting inside these plazas either because they do not have enough money in their pockets or are completely without it.
He has said this will save the law-abiding citizens from the agony they have to suffer because of the time these drivers take to negotiate with the staff manning the toll plazas.
Ghani has appealed to the people to get M-tags pasted on their vehicles as early as possible in order to face inconvenience.
