Four dacoits were shot dead in two different encounters with Sindh police, 24NewsHD TV channel Friday reported citing police.
A shootout occurred between four dacoits and Khambra police in which three of the dacoits died while one of them managed to flee away in injured condition under the cover of darkness.
On being informed of the shootout, Ubauro Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Muhammad Mithal Khakhrani reached the scene along with a heavy police contingent.
The dacoits who died in the police encounter were shifted to Ubauro Hospital for post-mortem. The identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained. Arms were also recovered from their possession.
Further information about the deceased was being collected from other police stations in Ghotki district. Moreover, search for the fleeing accused was underway.
In Tangwani, a dacoit died during a shootout with police on Indus Highway.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Samu, the dacoits were busy looting valuables from a truck, and they also attempted to kidnap the truck driver.
On information, a heavy police force reached the scene, and an exchange of fire took place between the police and the dacoits in which one of the dacoits died.
The accomplices of the deceased dacoits managed to flee away from the scene. Blockades were set up at various places to arrest the fleeing dacoits.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Raheem, police said.
