JUI decides not to join any political alliance

The central committee of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) decided at a meeting on Monday that the party would not become part of any political alliance and that it would continue its political struggle independently.
At the meeting, JUI leaders strongly condemned the “worst law and order situation in the country and said the government and security institutions have failed to provide security to people. They said the federal and provincial born out of rigged general elections of February 8, 2024, have failed in solving people’s problems and maintaining law and order. They reiterated the call for fresh and free and fair elections in the country.
JUI leaders decided to continue to coordinate with the religious and political parties on different national issues. At the same time, they rejected the mines and minerals bill proposed by the government.
Also, JUI leaders announced they would continue to support the Palestine freedom struggle. In this regard, they said, the religious party would stage a march in Lahore on April 25, another in Peshawar on May 11 and the third one in Quetta on May 15 to pay a tribute to the martyrs of Gaza.
