Provincial Cabinet okays the feasibility study of mass transit system in Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Rajanpur, mass transit systems of Yellow, Blue and Purple Line in Lahore

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired 25th meeting of the provincial cabinet to approve several key decisions for wheat farmers, rice growers and others, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

During the meeting, the Cabinet approved amendment to Food Grains (Licensing Control) Order, 1957, it was also approved that flour mills will get 25 percent mandatory wheat procurement and in case of the violation their licenses will be cancelled. Punjab Cabinet also approved deregulation of wheat sector to protect rights of the farmers.

Punjab government also approved the proposal to implement the Electronic Warehouse Reset System where farmers will get the facility to store their wheat and the government will bear the storage expenses. Punjab Cabinet also decided to introduce Pakistan's largest ration card for 1.5 million workers and laborers. The cabinet approves the proposal to provide Rs10,000 monthly assistance to workers through ration cards.

Punjab government also announces key decision for rice farmers. During the meeting, the government approved an MoU signed between Rice Research Institute, Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China and Ayub Agricultural Research Institute Faisalabad. Under the accord, Chinese institution will assist in introducing hybrid rice seeds in Punjab. CM Maryam said that the benefits of agricultural research should reach the farmers directly. 

Maryam Nawaz also approved the plan to run eco-friendly electric buses in Rajanpur. CM Maryam Nawaz also ordered immediate payment of dues of water supply schemes, approved aamendments to the rules and regulations of Children's Library Complex Lahore and Nawaz Sharif Early Education Center of Excellence to be established in Children's Library Complex. Chief Minister Maryam also directed to build the capacity building of WASA and PHA staff. 

On the occasion, the feasibility study of mass transit system in Faisalabad and Gujranwala was also approved. 

Under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Vision, the feasibility studies of mass transit systems of Yellow, Blue and Purple Line in Lahore was also approved by the Cabinet. 

Punjab government has introduced aamendments to the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969 to regulate rickshaws in Punjab. The approval was given for provision of additional funds for payment of dues to purchase medicines and drugs. 

The government approved funds for purchase of furniture and equipment for tertiary care hospitals of Punjab. CM Maryam Nawaz orders provision of required funds for purchase of furniture and medical equipment in hospitals. 

The Cabinet also approved proposed amendments to the Punjab Consumer Protection Act 2005 and under revised law, Additional Sessions Judges will be given powers of consumer courts. 

The government approved the draft of Punjab Labor Code 2024, relaxation of restrictions on recruitment in Punjab Agricultural Research Board (PARB) and approved recruitment in Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority (P4A), extension of contracts of employees of the Chief Drugs Controller's Office and Provincial Quality Control Board Lahore was also approved. 

Earlier Punjab government expressed grief on the death of Arshad Warraich, uncle of Provincial Minister Sohaib Bharath and Member of Punjab Assembly. The Cabinet commends Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision for girls' education.
