The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Bannu, on Saturday foiled a terrorist attack by recovering a large number of arms and ammunition from the Ghulam Khan area of North Waziristan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The weapons included hand grenades, mines and explosives were reportedly buried by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a banned outfit, in the area.

According to sources, the weapons recovered included 25 anti-personnel mines, eight hand grenades, five kilograms of explosives.

Earlier on December 22, 2020, ten terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Gwargo, Awaran, Balochistan, said Inter-Services Public Relations in a press release.

According to details, the security forces conducted an IBO on a terrorist hideout in Gwargo, Awaran.

The ISPR release said these terrorists were also involved in a firing incident on security forces which resulted in the martyrdom of Lance Naik Iqbal on December 20 in Awaran.

As soon as security forces cordoned off the area, the terrorists opened fire to flee from the area.

After an intense exchange of fire, the 10 terrorists were killed who were trying to flee from their hideouts. A huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered from their hideout.
