Govt decides to implement PECA Act in FBR

Federal government has decided to implement PECA Act 2016 in Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. The federal government has decided to declare FBR infrastructure as critical. FBR’s IT system, data center and applications has been considered as critical infrastructure and interference in FBR's critical infrastructure will be dealt with under the PECA Act. 

According to a notification, violators will be punished with imprisonment and fine under the PECA Act. FBR has directed necessary measures to ensure the security of critical infrastructure. The FBR has sent a letter to all field formations for implementation.
