‘Emotional’ Maryam Nawaz remembers Shaheed Benazir on 14th death anniversary

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday remembered the 14th death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and expressed her prayers for the former Prime Minister, reported 24 News HD TV.

In a tweet, Maryam said, “Lots of prayers for Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on her death anniversary.”

Maryam concluded the tweet by writing: “May she (Benazir Bhutto) rest in peace and Allah's mercy Ameen”.

PPP at Liberty Roundabout 

A candle was lit at Liberty Roundabout to pay tribute to Benazir Bhutto in a memorial ceremony arranged by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Civil Society. General Secretary PPP Hassan Murtaza,  Faiza Malik, Hafiz Ghulam Mohiuddin, Rana Ashar were present to pay tribute to the daughter of former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Activists also chanted slogans against terrorism and pledged that they would continue their struggle on the mission outlined by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

The participants said that it is very important to keep the democratic tradition alive in order to eradicate terrorism, added that only a democratic culture can promote peace and tolerance in society.
