A Bahawalnagar court has ordered a lady doctor to pay Rs 8.4 million to a woman whose newborn died due to criminal negligence in 2014.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a man moved court against the doctor under sections 322-338-336 pleading that his wife underwent a cesarean section (C-section) and the newborn died as the doc was unqualified.

The court of senior civil judge Aamir Manzoor ordered the doctor to pay Rs8.4m as compensation within seven days to the victim and non-payment will put her behind the bar.
