Buzdar announces administrative rights for South Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Tuesday announced giving administrative rights for the South Punjab that would comprise 3 divisions and 11 districts.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Punjab CM addressed a press conference at 8-Club Road in Lahore and said South Punjab would have become a province if they had a two-thirds majority in the House.
Buzdar said his government had given powers to the additional chief secretary and other concerned secretaries to use development funds in South Punjab.
He said they had also empowered the additional chief secretary to use offices along with the funds allocated for South Punjab region.
The Punjab CM also said that the secretaries of the South Punjab region had also been empowered to make new recruitments in their offices.
Buzdar confirmed that his government had allocated 33 percent development funds for the South Punjab first time in history.
To a query, he said they had good relations with everyone including Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and they also tried to work on their ideas.
He said they constituted a writ of the government in the Minar-e-Pakistan incident and all those involved in the shameful act had been arrested.
Answering a question about the usage of helicopter for travelling, he said he used it to listen to the problems of people and thought it a good thing.
The Punjab CM confirmed that Prime Minister Imran Khan was willing to make the South Punjab a province and he would visit Bahawalpur Secretariat soon.
