The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday declared the Toshakhana criminal proceedings case inadmissible, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq pronounced the reserved verdict.
The court accepted the plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan against the trial court’s decision.
Imran had filed a plea in the IHC challenging the maintainability of criminal proceedings against him in the Toshakhana case.
It is to be noted here that a sessions court in Islamabad had declared the trial against the PTI chairman admissible.
Earlier in May, the IHC had ordered a local court to stop indictment proceedings against the PTI chairman in the Toshakhana case. The IHC chief justice issued the stay order.
Later in June, the IHC extended its order of halting criminal proceedings against the PTI chairman in the Toshakhana reference.
