Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Saturday that there existed vast opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and the USA in the fields of education, health and economic development, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He was talking to New York Assembly Deputy Speaker Philip Ramos who called on him at the Interior Ministry’s building in Islamabad.

Naqvi said that he paid special attention to the health sector when he was the Punjab chief minister. “I especially ensured the well-being of nurses in the province,” he told the US dignitary, adding, “I plan to do the same here in Islamabad.”

He informed the visitor that a delegation of the Islamabad Police would visit New York soon.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramos said the Pakistani community living in the USA was playing quite an active role in every walk of life. “We in America are faced with the shortage of nurses,” he said, adding, “And we are aware that when it comes to nursing, Pakistan has a lot of potential.”

Both discussed matters of mutual interest related to health, education, policing and economy and agreed to increase cooperation between the two countries in these sectors.

They agreed to send Pakistani nurses to the USA for employment.

The deputy speaker, on the occasion, invited the interior minister to visit New York.
