Irrespective of the fact whether any ship docked at the Gwadar port or not, the port authority has spent Rs100 million on serving refreshments to guests during the last five years, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Only in the ongoing financial year (FY), over Rs20 million have been spent on refreshments.
And this does not end here as the authority has again demanded money from the government fund for the next three years for the same purpose.
The authority requires Rs70 million under the head of refreshments.
Initially, the authority told the Ministry of Maritime Affairs that it required the amount for holding seminars on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other related workshops.
But when additional amount was sought, the ministry asked the authority to submit details of the expenditures incurred so far.
