Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz’s discretionary funds increased

The amount of discretionary funds, which Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz could spent on development and non-development projects, has been increased, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, now the CM will have the discretion to spend Rs5 billion on these projects.
Separate funds named block allocation have been earmarked under the minister initiative head.
Discretionary funds are also available for other sectors of Punjab.
There is a suggestion to allocate Rs10 million for the discretionary grants the provincial ministers can spend.
Similarly, an allocation of Rs5 million has been proposed for the Punjab Assembly’s speaker’s discretionary grant.
The Punjab government has also suggested fixing the funds at Rs3 million for the deputy speaker; Rs12 million for the governor and Rs2 million for the leader of the opposition.
Another suggestion made by the provincial government is to fix the grant for the provincial ombudsman at Rs300,000 and Rs2 million for the Monitoring and Inspection Cell chairman.
