Dead bodies of seven colliers were recovered from the collapsed coalmine in the Harnai area of Balochistan after a rescue operation that took long 17 hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Chief Mines Inspector Shafqat Fyaz said that the rescue operation faced hurdles as after the collapse of the coalmine a fire and toxic gas engulfed the whole mine. He said the identification of the bodies was in process.
Sources said three bodies were recovered late last night while all the bodies were burnt as the fire also erupted after the mine collapsed.
Harnai is located around three-hour drive from the provincial capital Quetta and is surrounded by hills.
