Rs50m scam in Lesco Defence Division surfaces 

A Rs50 million scam in Lesco Defence Division surfaced, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

Electricity bills of consumers were submitted with fake stamps. Due to the fake stamps, the bill amounts were not transferred to Lesco's accounts

An investigation was initiated after the funds were not transferred.

During the investigation, bogus billing was identified with the connivance of Lesco employees.

On being identified, a case was registered against Lesco employees and their associates

The FIA arrested the accused Umar Farooq involved in the scandal

Umar Farooq embezzled crores of rupees with the connivance of Lesco employees.
