Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has succeeded in persuading Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman for holding talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf over elections.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Bilawal Bhutto Wednesday called on Maulana Fazal ur Rehman’s residence located at the Abdul Khel village of Paharpur tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan to convince him for negotiation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
Maulana was believed to be a major hurdle in initiating talks with the opposition and removing the obstacle over elections.
Earlier, the JUI had rejected the proposal of talks with PTI. The party had adopted a strict stance on the issue of negotiations with the PTI in the meeting of the allied parties chaired by the prime minister held on other day.
However, the efforts of Bhutto brought fruits and Maulana agreed to allow ruling alliance to hold talks with PTI on the current political situation of the country.
However, JUI chief has cleared that he or his party members will not be the part of committee that will initiate dialogues with PTI.
The PDM head will own the results what so ever come after the talks with opposition.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been a champion of talks with the opposition.
In the ruling alliance’s meeting, he insisted upon initiating dialogues with the PTI to steer the country out of crisis despite opposition of PML-N and other parties.
The foreign minister also condoled the death of Mufti Abdul Shakoor with the PDM chief and also discussed the current political situation of the country with him.
Issues of mutual interest, the overall political situation and the Supreme Court’s confrontation with the Parliament were also come under discussion.
