IHC orders contempt proceedings against police officers for poor investigation

The Islamabad High Court on Saturday ordered contempt of court proceedings against police officers for improper investigation of cases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court while initiating the contempt of court proceedings directed to prepare a file of contempt of court proceedings against the SP and SDPO.
IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri issued orders to take action against the police officers.
During the hearing, the judge remarked that they should give a written answer. He said, “Why not start the regular contempt of court proceedings? Why not initiate disciplinary action against you?”
Then the court ordered the SP and the DSPO to appear in person and submit a reply within 10 days.
The Islamabad High Court adjourned further hearing of the case till August 3 and ordered to complete the trial of the murder case in four months.
The court said that if the prosecution did not follow the case, then the accused could apply for bail again.
