Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Friday reached the Lahore High Court to seek protective bail in cases registered against him in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Earlier, Imran Khan submitted five more applications to the LHC seeking protective bail in these cases. But the registrar office objected that Imran had already obtained protective bail in these cases.

But a two-member bench comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Justice Anwar Hussain removed registrar’s objection and fixed the petitions for hearing.

The hearing of the case is suspended till the time registrar office puts numbers on these petitions.

The PTI chief requested the court to fix these petitions for hearing today.

Imran submitted a petition seeking his exemption from appearing before a concerned court in Islamabad.

Earlier, when the LHC registrar office raised objection to the PTI chief’s petitions, Imran’s lawyer said that he would remove the objections today.

Meanwhile, on the information that Imran was arriving to the Lahore High Court today, a heavy contingent of police reached the court.

Several police officers including SP Security Dost Muhammad reached the premises.

Case file referred to LHC CJ

Earlier, LHC’s Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh conducted hearing of Imran Khan’s plea seeking details of cases filed against the PTI chief.

The LHC judge referred the case file to the chief justice for constituting a larger bench for hearing the case further.

Imran predicts ‘political death’ of Nawaz in elections

During an informal talk with media outside the Lahore High Court, former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan has predicted the ‘political death’ of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in the election.

When a journalist asked him what was his opinion that the Supreme Court would reject the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision regarding the postponement of the election, Imran replied: “If the Supreme Court did not reject the ECP decision, then it will again say in October that government does not have money and will not hold polls. A law of the jungle has prevailed here.”

The Election Commission of Pakistan Friday issued a notification regarding the holding of general elections in Punjab on October 8 next.
