Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi vows swift retaliation against terrorists

Making it clear to the terrorists that the government was not intimidated by their tactics, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi vowed on Tuesday swift response to the anti-state elements' activities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Naqvi dared terrorists to stop stabbing the nation in the back and carrying out attacks in the darkness of the night. "The federal government will fully support the Balochistan government in its efforts to flush out militants from the province. We are working for the resolution of each and every issue confronting the province," he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said the province was in a state of mourning in the wake of violent terror attacks.
He praised the interior minister for always coming to the rescue of the provincial government. The chief minister expressed the resolve to eliminate militancy from Balochistan.
Earlier, talking to the chief minister, the interior Minister said that the war against terrorism was in the benefit of the entire nation.
He assured him that the Center would fully cooperate with the provincial government for the restoration of peace in the restive areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Bugti dispelled the impression that a large number of people of the province were involved in subversive activities, saying those resorting to violence were in a ‘minority’.
The CM said the government of Balochistan was taking more steps to root out militancy from the province.
Both exchanged views over the steps taken to protect the lives and properties of people in the province so far.
Both strongly condemned the recent acts of terrorism in the province that jolted the nation.
Naqvi and Bugti also paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of the law-enforcement agencies’ personnel for the restoration of peace.
They said they stood by the families of the martyrs.
Earlier, the chief minister welcomed the minister on arrival at the CM House.
Naqvi, Bugti chair meeting
Later, Naqvi and Bugti chaired a meeting to discuss the recent wave of terrorism in Balochistan.
The meeting reviewed the law and order situation in the province.
The provincial chief secretary, the additional chief secretary interior, the inspector general of police, IG Frontier Corps North, IG Frontier Corps South, DIG CTD, DIG Special Branch and other senior-most officials were in attendance.
A few hours earlier on Tuesday, on the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi reached Quetta to discuss the security situation arising out of the incidents of terrorism that rocked Balochistan on Monday, and in which dozens of people had lost their lives.
Provincial Ministers Asfandyar Kakar and Ali Madad Jatak received the minister at the airport.
The inspector general of Balochistan Police and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
