Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, has directed authorities to provide the best possible facilities to tourists travelling to Murree during the Eid holidays.

On his instructions, Islamabad Police has already finalised a comprehensive traffic management plan, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

Over 500 traffic police personnel will be deployed to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles, while 3,500 Islamabad police officers will remain on duty for patrolling and crime prevention.

To strengthen security, 18 police pickets have been set up at various entry and exit points of the city. IGP Rizvi assured that every effort is being made to provide citizens with a safe and peaceful environment to celebrate Eid without fear. He emphasised that Islamabad Police is committed to taking every possible measure for public security.

Two parks in Islamabad have been designated as family parks, where patrolling on bicycles will be carried out to enhance security. Additionally, motorcycle and car patrols will be conducted inside different sectors of the city. Citizens will witness increased police presence as part of the Eid security plan.

To further enhance monitoring, police officers are using body-worn cameras, ANPR technology, and surveillance tractors. A database is being compiled to track criminals involved in offences over the past three years, and a special "Knock the Door" campaign has been launched to monitor them.

IGP Rizvi highlighted that police personnel are sacrificing their time with families to ensure the safety of the people during Eid. He appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies for a secure and peaceful holiday.
