Veteran New Zealand pacer Tim Southee has registered for the highly-anticipated player draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

This announcement was made through PSL’s official social media handles on Tuesday. It hailed Southee as "Kiwi pace supreme," marking his entry into the celebrated T20 league.

Southee, 36, is a cornerstone of international T20 cricket, boasting a record-breaking career. He has played 126 T20I matches for New Zealand, capturing 164 wickets, making him the highest wicket-taker in T20I history.

His extensive experience across franchise leagues includes stints in The Hundred, Indian Premier League (IPL), Vitality Blast, and Champions League T20.

In the IPL, Southee has represented prominent teams like Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Kolkata Knight Riders over 10 seasons. Across 54 IPL matches, he took 47 wickets at an average of 37.06 and an economy rate of 8.66, showcasing his value as a seasoned T20 campaigner.

Southee’s addition brings the total number of foreign players in the PSL 10 draft to 22, with the New Zealander being the fourth Kiwi to register. The draft will be held in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025, making it a landmark event for the league as it expands its footprint.
