Cold wave intensifies as many cities receive snowfall

The intensity of cold has increased due to snowfall in the upper areas of Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern parts of country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The weather turned cold after snowfall in Lipa Valley, Daokhan, Reshiyan Pandan and Khulana Chakar last night.
According to administration of Jhelum Valley, the land route of Lipa Valley is open for small vehicles and can be traveled with caution.
There is a risk of slipping on the Lipa Valley Road and avoid unnecessary travel.
Weather forecasters said that rain and snowfall are likely to continue until January 6.
Moreover, rain continued in Upper Dir while snowfall in mountainous areas also continued and up to 10 inches of snow has fallen in tourist destination Lowari and a good number of tourists reach Lowari to enjoy snowfall.
Road clearance work is underway under the supervision of the district administration passengers and tourists are instructed to make safety arrangements.
On the other hand, intensity of cold increased after first snowfall of winter in mountainous area Tirah Valley of district Khyber.
However, due to road closures the area people are facing problems.
