Female judge threat case: Judge rues absence of PTI chairman’s lawyer

A district and sessions court in Islamabad has adjourned the hearing of the female judge threat case against PTI Chairman Imran Khan due to the absence of a defence lawyer till November 28, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Civil Judge Muhammad Murid Abbas heard the case on Saturday.
The PTI chairman’s lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared in the court. However, senior defence lawyer Salman Safdar did not show up.
Prosecutor Rizwan Abbas told the court that he was ready to present his arguments. He said that the court could give another date if it wanted him to present his arguments in the presence of the defence lawyer.
Judge Abbas remarked that arguments would be presented in the presence of defence lawyer Safdar Salman.
The judge rued that he could not hear another case when Imran Khan’s case had been fixed for hearing. “I’m sitting free today. I’m costing dearly to the high court as my per day wages are Rs13,000,” he said sarcastically.
He said that there were four cases of the PTI chairman and ‘my entire day goes wasted’.
With this, the judge adjourned the case hearing till November 28.
